Air Capital City Women in Aviation is holding their annual fundraising event to send low income girls involved in the local A STEM program (Aviation, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) to Space Camp. This event will take place at Stearman Field Bar and Grill, 14789 SW 30th St Benton, KS on Tuesday May 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and will include dinner, auction, and cash bar. The cost to attend is $60 per person or $100 per couple and tickets can be purchased on their website www.aircapitalcitywai.org. The featured speaker will be Charles “Sam” Gemar, former NASA astronaut and Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army. During his time with NASA Sam held many different positions, all supporting the Space Shuttle program, and had the opportunity to be a crew member on three Shuttle Missions. Additionally, journalist Molly McMillin will be honored for her involvement and promotion of aviation in Wichita and the surrounding area.

Last year they were able to help send 25 girls to Space Camp and are trying to surpass that this year and have set a goal of sending 40 girls. Come out for a night of food, mingling, great stories, and help out this wonderful cause!
