March 2011 WAC Business Luncheon featuring Clay Lacy

March 22, 2011 12:00pm

Wichita Airport Hilton

Networking 11:15 am • Luncheon 12pm

Clay Lacy aviation the legend and making-1.jpgWichita native Clay Lacy has at least one interesting story for every hour he has logged in the left seat of an airplane…and that would add up to more than 50,000 so far. He will tell at least a few of them to the Wichita Aero Club on Tuesday, March 22 at the organization’s monthly business luncheon, scheduled for noon at the Wichita Airport Hilton. Inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame in July of 2010, Clay has somehow managed to make his mark in almost every facet of aviation. He was among the youngest airline pilots ever when he joined United Airlines. He subsequently retired as the Captain with the most hours. He helped Bill Lear introduce the Learjet on the West Coast and into the movies with his Astrovision camera system, in the process, contributing to the launch of business aviation as we know it. He founded and now operates one of the world’s foremost charter operations which set the standard for similar operations all over the world and he is a world champion air racer, having finished in the top spot at the Reno Air Races where he still competes annually. Clay will be introduced by his long-time friend and fellow Wichitan, world-famous photographer Paul Bowen.

Cost of monthly luncheons is $30.00 for members, $40.00 for non-members.
