APRIL 26 AT NOON. WICHITA AIRPORT HILTON HOTEL GRAND BALLROOM.
Cessna Aircraft Company Chairman Emeritus Russell W. Meyer, Jr. will be the speaker at the Wichita Aero Club's monthly luncheon, April 26, 2010 at the Wichita Airport Hilton Hotel. The former Cessna CEO was recently elected to the National Aviation Hall of Fame. The recognition caps a career that has also included receipt of the National Aeronautic Association's Wright Brothers Memorial Trophy, the Collier Trophy, the National Business Aviation Association's Meritorious Service Award, three different terms as chairman of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association and numerous local and civic honors. Russ's industry leadership and strong advocacy helped Cessna and general aviation through the difficult era of product liability challenges and the fuel crises in the late '70s and early '80s and helped usher in a period of remarkable growth and prosperity. He continues to be one of the industry's most respected voices as well as a visionary and encouraging spokesman for the future of the Air Capital and its products.
